Competition time for International E-waste Day

   Wed, 20th Sep, 2023

To celebrate International E-waste Day on October 14th, KMK Metals Recycling is running a competition for primary school children to raise awareness about the importance of recycling your e-waste. Under the slogan “You can recycle anything with a plug, battery or cable!” this year’s event highlights the issue of invisible e-waste, that goes unnoticed due to its nature or appearance, leading people to overlook its recyclable potential. Approximately 80% of the e-waste recycled in Ireland comes to KMK Metals Recycling at our Tullamore and Kilbeggan facilities.

We have designed three colouring and activity sheets for the following age ranges, with this theme in mind:

4-6 years
7-9 years
10-12 years

However, if you have pupils who would like to enter with one of the sheets not designed for their age range then that is absolutely fine. Likewise, if there are pupils over the age of 12 in the school they are also welcome to enter.

There is a €100 one for all gift card to be won in age category, which is for the winning entrant’s class, to be used for a little party, for arts and crafts or some sort of treat. The teacher will receive the gift card on their behalf.

The competition closes in three weeks’ time, on Wednesday 11th of October. Entries received after that date will not be considered. The colouring and activity sheets are attached for you to print out.

Entry forms have been sent out to local schools but if your school would like to get involved email info@kmk.ie and we will send you some colouring and activity sheets.
