Duvet Day draw in aid of Daffodil Day raises €559 for the Irish Cancer Society

For this year’s Daffodil Day fundraiser, KMK Metals Recycling decided to do something a little different by asking employees to enter a Duvet Day raffle to raise money for the Irish Cancer Society’s flagship charity event. Almost 90 employees made a donation of €5 or more to enter the raffle to win one additional day’s annual leave, raising a grand total of €559. The winner of the raffle was Zbigniew Marurszewski.

Max Kyck, General Manager of KMK Metals Recycling, said: “We thrilled with the level of participation for the duvet day draw and with the amount of money raised. The Irish Cancer Society does amazing work and is a charity that everyone wants to get behind. Unfortunately, so many of us have family members and friends who are affected by cancer.”

As well as the duvet day fundraiser, Kurt and Edeltraud Kyck, owners of KMK Metals Recycling spent all day on Friday 22nd March collecting money by selling pins and flowers for Daffodil Day on the streets of Drogheda. They have been working hard to support the Drogheda Daffodil Day committee for over 20 years.

Daffodil Day is the Irish Cancer Society’s biggest fundraiser, taking place each year in March and raising millions of euro to support cancer patients and their loved ones by providing free advice and support, as well as by funding life-saving cancer research.
